German sportsgear maker Puma announced 19 June 2007 that Pinault is the new chief of Puma’s supervisory board. The changeover on the supervisory board comes after PPR acquired a 27.1-percent stake in Puma from the Herz family for 1.4 billion euros (1.9 billion dollars) in mid-April and subsequently launched a public takeover offer for the remaining shares.
